Yes. You almost certainly won't be 100% private without just cutting the cord (and even that's questionable), but you can at least be more private. Better to take some control of your data than none imo

Yes. An easy start would be to stop using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Reddit, YouTube, and delete, or at least stop using gmail. If you need to use Instagram, Twitter or Reddit there are privacy safe alternatives such as Nitter for Twitter and Teddit/Libreddit for Reddit. I can't remember what Instagram alternative is but it does exist. For an alternative to gmail there is disroot.org and proton.me.

Also you should use firefox with Unlock origin, but thats not even a privacy tip thats just a necessary part of using the internet.

I don't have that many emails even on old accounts, but if you get a lot of attachments you might run out I guess

>>885938 I say so yes. Most my emails are text files with less than 1MB so it's enough for me. I have more than 900 emails and I think I'm only at 20-30MB

>>886174 Won't the deprecation of manifest V2 stop ad-blockers from working on Chrome? I won't use a browser without an ad-blocker nor will I ever recommend someone to use a browser without an ad-blocker. Also extensions are a pain to download last time I tried ungoogled chromium and they didn't have autoupdating which is a security concern is it not?

>>886123 yes thank you I meant ublock origin
Maybe eventually. For now they mostly still work, and my copy of ungoogled chromium is more than a few years old now.

Also with ff there's a site ffprofile . com that'll let you configure a lot of advanced things for privacy and such pretty easy, I've never used it personally though so your own risk and all that

Yes, but I would say for excitement! When I was first introduced to the web It was a whole new world! It's cool to me. Everything was an adventure in cyberspace, games, anime, nudity, and big corps weren't so hypnotizing with algorithms on the clearnet. But now I think the fun lies in places that try to anonymize themselves. Diving into the depths of privacy, foreign web spaces, the deep web (legal stuff lol), TailsOS, hidden crypto economies, etc. Makes the net really fun!! :)

some websites i used to use for le privacy knowledge and use:
https://www.privacytools.io/
https://prism-break.org/en/
https://spyware.neocities.org/
This person is a bit paranoid, but he does good work imo. It may seem kinda fucky that almost all of his articles list something as "spyware or potential spyware" but he's basically explaining what *should* be obvious, but is passed over by most.
For example: Steam. No shit Steam collects *some* data on you, that's how the service (and for that matter, every single digital retailer) works. Doesn't mean Gaben is evil, but the methodology is the same.

This dude has almost no life except to compare VPN's, it feels like. Has been around for awhile. Might be helpful.
