I am so sick of software that does one usefull thing and then has so many other functions which are pointless and worst of all they sometimes even ask to (or straight up) install mcaffee and other antivirus programs that are just unwanted, it's like buying a coffee maker that makes coffee then murders your dog, bangs your wife, reports you to authorities and has a subscribtion.

Especially Shutdown programs are annoying, windows has a task scheduler already pre-installed but people download a random 3rd party software to turn their computers off

>>767791 It's not uncommon for gaming peripherals mice and headphones etc. If you want to configure some specific settings you need to install a bloated program with tons of useless graphics and options that sometimes spies on you.
Before GDPR was a thing Razer had a built-in keylogger in their Synapse software, for example, and you couldn't use your hardware fully unless you installed Synapse and connected it to the Internet.

>>767791 It's just the experience I have when trying to find something on windows, I for the love of god won't install such a thing, it just annoys me that its being showed down the throat of people who don't want to deal with computer shenanigans.

Software these days seems to be how to write eldritch abominations of feature creep, it's not even funny anymore. They subtract speed, add problems, multiply confusion and divide sanity. Web browsers are probably the best example of this. (Lack of decent features in them, yet support for things unused by 99.9999% of users for 99.9999% of the time.)
