Motorola phones have bootloaders locked and it's a pain to unlock it. There isn't a simple way. Also, sometimes unlocking it will remove all data, so yeah...

Unlocking bootloder will ALWAYS remove all data. It's a security feature

Consider using an original data cable, my old samsung wouldnt flash without it.

Some Motorolas can have their bootloaders unlocked with a OEM code but they want your Motorola account and your serial number. It still wipes all your data and it voids your warranty anyway (If you still have one)
