VLC for Android is pretty good. So is nmpcpp for PC but I've gotten lazy and tend to stream my music nowadays.

When I first started using smplayer I wasn't aware that by default it saves some info about everything you watch in a plaintext file. Stuff like path and filename, chosen subtitle language and where you left off.
So a friend found the name of some odd porn clips. It was a bit embarrassing.

I'm very partial to smplayer myself but I'll resort to plain ol' mplayer if I'm on ancient hardware.
