| I've got a W10 partition for gaymen, but haven't booted it once in the past three months. No point. Everything I need works in linux, and where it doesn't it's easier to just start up a virtual machine than fuck around in MS's weird-ass little playground. Too frustrating and limited.

is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

When it comes to software, the junkfood is this proprietary shit like windows and/or macOS. It equally much effort to handle it well but on top costs you money and makes you dependend to monopolists. The question is: Why people still use Windows and MacOS? The answer: Because they have the bigger lobby, which corrupt public institutions.

| I see the appeal to linux for embedded programming, and I use it at work for just that every single day. However, when I go home, I can't fathom using linux for my main machine.
