I wanted to create a console soundcould player in python 3 using the soundcloud python API, but the client requires a CLIENT_ID token to work. To obtain this token, you had to submit your application to souncloud, but they no longer accept requests since ever. What should I do? Do you know any alternatives?

maybe using youtube-dl (works on soundcloud tracks) would be an alternative? i don't know how you would do search and other stuff though.
Are you sure API app requests are no longer accepted?

The whole point of platforms is not to be interoperable through APIs. Just don't use platforms.
