VR is worthless for now, and will probably be worthless for a long time, if not forever

>>464265 I used to think this until I played vr games. Even the simple arcady games were really emmersive and fun. Not quite worth $400 to me yet, but still fun.

>>464336 There aren't real games in VR. Bad technical demonstrations at best. VR adds almost nothing apart from the cost, and removes a lot. And fun doesn't mean good.

>>464338 if you don't play games for fun... Then... Why... Why do you play games?

>>464672 First, you're failed at understanding what I said. I said that fun doesn't mean good, not that good games aren't fun. Moreover, good games are a piece of art, not only a fun thing. A good game can be fun, but also be beautiful, make you think, surprise you, make you feel sad or happy... Don't reduce games to your very limited point of view.

>>464931 I enjoy tons of sucky games. Just cause there fun. It doesn't matter how objectively bad a game is. If it's fun, I'll go at it for hours on end.

>>466478 Please neverctry to make a gane then. You don't deserve to play if you are unable to give the slightest thought on what you are playing. Your lack of interest in games doesn't mean tgat "as long as it's fun the rest doesn't matter".

>>466511 woah, calm down there "you don't deserve to play games because you like it and I don't" g/u/rl. Let's face it. Good and bad are entirely subjective. Look at Touhou for example. The art in the beginning there was pretty awful. Yet it's a major game that tons of people enjoy. It's fun challenging yourself. Look at about 90% of the indie games out there.

Unpolished, unbalanced, and unfinished. They're fun though, and the potential for a "good" game, whatever you may believe that to be, is there. Basically, you're just trying to argue your completely subjective point that varies from person to person.

>>466586 Oh my. Ever heard of game design? Artistic direction? Soundtracks? There are many points in a game that have to be polished, worked on. Those make a good or a bad game, objectively. I'm able to find a game good evem if I don't find it funny. And to find a funny game bad. Your limited point of view doesn't mean I have the same as you, kid. And it's the same for movies, for paintings, and such. But apparently ypu can't leave you egocentric point of view.

>>464931 >Moreover, good games are a piece of art, not only a fun thing. A single line on a canvas can be seen as a serious piece of art. The predicate "Art" is very subjective and no real quality feature. I would rather say: creating (good) games is a handcraft.

>>467887 The reason you can consider your line as "art" is a subjective one, precisely the thing defended earlier. Games can be objectively good due to technical aspects, in the same way as any painting. And a bad game could be see as your line on a canvas: you can like it, yet it doesn't make it objectively good. That's what I'm pointing out: "fun" is subjective, but the technical work and thinking behind a game can be judged objectively.
