I'm having trouble with that daylight savings bullshit, our president altered the dates and all. How I change my redhat server to start counting the daylight on the new specified month?

update /etc/localtime to point to the right file

Do you actually mean the time of day or the uptime? I would recommend to use a time sync server with ntpd.
