Any of you here? I use Kubuntu but lately I've noticed many linux users are sceptical of Ubuntu (and of Cannocical) and don't like the corporate vibe of 'em I don't know how to feel about them but I do enjoy how comfy kubuntu has been for me
What do you gurls think?

ubuntu is going to comply with age verification nonsense, so i'm switching to freebsd soon i strongly recommend you do, too

The main issue with ubuntu is that it pushes snap like there is no tomorrow while it is half-baked and barely functional. At best you get half-working software, at worst - not working. Ignore everything ubuntu-based.

I personaly dislike kde, gtk and especially apt (ubuntus package manager).
Since you like it though, keep using it.

If you like KDE and the debian packaging system I'd still recommend KDE neon. It combines Ubuntu LTS repositories with rolling release repositories for and from KDE. The current KDE Neon is based on 24.04 LTS and hopefully will upgrade to 26.04 LTS end of the year. I have no Problem with Canonical, a long I don't have to use their own software and services (which usually suck). They do a good job as a distributor (even thought they steel a lot from debian).

My thoughts on Ubuntu basically boil down to its a good distro if you like the decisions they make
I personally don't like the update cadence and how disruptive the major updates are compared to a rolling release
I've got an old server still running Ubuntu and I can totally see why people would use it though

I see some gurls recommending openbsd and freebsd, but what about CachyOs? I'm kinda curious about it, is it good? Are the otherbsd distros good? What's the difference?
