| developers get paid and promoted for maximizing shareholder value and implementing flashy, share value increasing features, which incidentally makes our lives worse
developers are okay with this because making our lives worse is part of the contracts they signed by joining the ranks of the professional-managerial class (known as epstein-lites in liberal parlance)
