Does dumb phone really help phone addiction or is it pure shit?

| Yes yes dumb phone users and /tech/-wanderers, I'm all ears to hear YOURS personal experience with those.
I can imagine that at the very least it will be very inconvenient, so I have a feeling that 90% of dumb phone users just switch back to a smartphone in a week or so, or actually continue to use both devices while sniffing copium simultaneously.

| I mean, just figure out what you want from a phone and more importantly your time.

| I'm a programer that's worked on apps.
I do not own a smart phone only a dumb one.
I do not care to get a smart phone in the slightest and havent for the past 5+years.

Once or twice a year i will borrow a friends phone that has OsmAnd installed if i'm going on a trip. (so GPS, without internet/signal)

Maybe you need a smart phone idk your life but this posts sounds like you are the coping one

| Dumb phone is for elder

| >>1085368 well I actually really need a smartphone but mostly only for my stupid online banking app. I actually use it like 2 times in a month to cash out my money, so I guess I can pretty much live without it on everyday basis

| Navigation is actually a big stumbling block because I recently moved to a big city and it's almost impossible to navigate here without GPS for me, but afaik GPS navigators as a separate device exist, so maybe it's worth to buy one.

| I'm OP I'm just posting from mobile internet ajajajaja so my ID changed

| iirc dedicated GPS has fees, so maybe OsmAnd would be good for you?

I just think all smart phones kinda suck. They don't act as enough of a computer.
Which makes dumb phones way more practical as their resiliant and have an insane battery life.
I find that getting a phone with a really old pre-android OS is essential for a good dumb phone, as battery life. there are a few decent ones still being made. but a pain to find.
