I wanna find weird and interesting software for stuff on linux. It can do whatever, but my only rules are that it has some kind of installation method that isn't building it off of github. Don't care if it's official repos, flathpak, snap. As long as I don't have to mess with building it myself.
Just anything you g/u/rls think are neat and not well known.

Ummmm Htop lets me see and kill processes when they misbehave (I’m sorry I can’t think of much right now)

Have you looked at the TUI's? There are nice ones, iirc there's a github page that compile a list of them

dmenu From Suckless.org It may be on your distro pkg repository (already compiled). For example: in Debian it is as part of package suckless-tools, in Void and Arch linux it is as separated package dmenu. You can assign hotkeys to spawn it with desired cmdln keys such a font, color of selection, etc.
Basically, it is a selector of executables by PATH variable, where you write full or part of their name and can move selection by arrow keys over dynamic search results.

>>1031105 // If you want make it coller, you should take src, desired patches and/or write part of code by yourself, and finally compile it. But default package is still very usful.

Some cool suggestions so far! I think my fave suggestions so far are dmenu and quickmedia. Very interesting :3
Also if you like htop I recommend checking btop! It's similar but more clearly organized, separate tiles for different resource views, hotkeys to interact with more capability than htop, and it also just looks really nice! It's more of a whole command center like Task Manager if it didn't suck rather than just a process viewer.

>>1031149>>1031178 Oh, yes I forgot about ncdu, htop and btop. So, may be you will interested also in iftop to display bandwidth usage on an interface.
tiramisu for desktop notification w/o dbus, you have write a shell script to call it for better use of it.
cmus - console audioplayer, use number key to navigate between part ot player, for example 7 is for settings, 5 for browsing storage, 1 is main, current playlist.

Also there is treesheets, organizer, what I saw, that it is so powerful and flexible, but for keeping task may be still nice (and maybe better) the task warrior.
Oh, yeah! Do not forget best program; sl.
Also there is a top-like program, named atop, for sysrem and processes level monitor.

Oh, I forgot that tiramisu should used in combination with, for example, herbe (daemonless notification w/o D-bus) by shell script, when tiramisu itself is for desktop notification, has not daemon functions.
nvtop nice top-like program for monitor GPU.
May be interested in xmenu, lightweight menu, like starmenu, configurations by file.
smenu (create selection menus with words from stdin) is also interesting. pdmenu - nostalgic menu like norton commander menu. slock - Screensaver
