Rust

| Wha yew gurls think about it? thinking about learning it, I mostly have a background of assembly and c++ and python. meow :3 love you *muwah*

| its pretty gay

| Nah

| Sometimes I feel like I'm too nerdy even for the /tech/ channel. >-<

| learn zig instead

| Noooo you’re really smart!!! I just don’t know rust or very much : \
I really like the idea of making sure things will be good at compile time! I support rust!

| Heard it's pretty esoteric to learn but
>assembly and c++
Nah, you'll be fine. Go for it.

| Someone dropped this in another board and I thought of you
https://doc.rust-lang.org/book/
https://rust-book.cs.brown.edu/
- this version looks pretty cool!

| If you need OOP and/ or a more transparent mechanism for overloading functions/operators, take C++, else take C. For scripts - bash/POSIX-shell, or another scripting language, except for the snake and the moon.
For scientific computing, you can use fortran (and you can do it in combination with C).
Why so many languages were created (for example, rust, go, python, lua, java, nim, kotlin, etc.) is unclear.

| >>1028222 just write the machine code in a hex editor why do we need programming languages at all

| >>1028222 https://xkcd.com/927/

| >>1028234
*rofl*
Good one!

| >>1028227
Yeah, let us back to patch card also! Forget assembler! Just use 0 and 1!

| >>1028273 I've actually done this before multiple times. It's not fun.

| >>1028331
I am sure, that is not fun, yes.
I just do not like that how people languages not on their purpose, like python, which shoves it in everywhere, even making an UI, ridiculous!

| Hi! I've used Rust for a while! It's really robust and has a lot of solid features. Almost all of them are designed to keep you from shooting yourself in the foot. It's actually decently simple to get started with in the guide book someone posted before. I'd recommend using VS code with rust plugins.

| Wow I recently downloaded vscode too! You’re really smart gurl~
