I play trombone, harmonica, and guitar. All terribly, but that's irrelevant.

>>832483 Brass instruments seem like a totally different world to me. I want to try learning the basics of one some day but I doubt it will happen any time soon. And you're right, I don't care about skill as long as you can enjoy playing your instrument(-s).

I play the flute. I only play wooden and bone, but I still have my metal concert flute stashed away somewhere. I'm bad at it and totally self-conscious about how bad I am at it, but I still enjoy playing it whenever no-ones around.

I play guitar and drums, on guitar i tend to make Djenty stuff, while on drums i prefer groove metal and funk rock. I sometimes also make some synthwave stuff on FL Studio

I mainly write rap/hip-hop type lyrics. I used to play the baritone. Those two are unrelated to eachother, but I low-key wanna try combining them some day.

Many different instruments you play and musical directions you chose, g/u/rls. It's so cool we habe such a diversity here on /u/. I honestly didn't expect it.

>>832757 If writing raps count, I do that as well (same gurl that plays trombone). Some day I'd like to make an album of them, but I need to learn to make beats first (that I don't think sound like crap)

>>832866 I assumed it counts since it's writing. And, I mean, you could find free beats. There are some amazing producers out there that put out free for profit beats. Either that or get you some contacts.

>>832866 Ofc that counts. Rap is music. Btw, if you're not afraid to go for a more oldschool sound you can try creating a bunch of samples from other music to make a beat. Who knows, maybe that will actually turn out to be your thing or you'll at least get some fresh new ideas for making your own beats from scratch.

>>832898>>832894 I had a beat half-made, sampling a song by The Jazz Epistles. very chillhop, I want to go back to it and fix it. I've finished a dozen raps, one of them could easily match up with it.

Had one project where I was writing bars for every track on Sunset/Sunrise, by Saturn Genesis. Some of my favorite writing is from that project.
