Eurobeat anyone?
| dude... eurobeat is one of the suckiest 90s electronic genres... it's literally 80s italodisco refurbished to be sold in the japan market. i think eurobeat is only popular in the western world because of initial d and weeb culture. even though, these themes ib eurobeat songs like cars, speed, winning... are really cool

Maybe the fast synth? All these genres tend to be heavily related, beat being a subgenre of dance which influenced 00s EDM and also these were the weeaboo years and as you said, Japan loved eurobeat. It's a big incestuous mess haha.

Future Funk that also borrows a lot (and by that I mean rip off) from Italian disco also got big quick and got annoying quick. Its current evolution towards soundcloud rap makes it even less attractive.
I'd rather have some relaxing 90s electronica again.

yep, future funk is very jarring, but i used to listen to yung bae like four years ago haha. why is it even called future funk if it doesn't have anything remotely futuristic at all? also i'm interested in that future funk+rap thing, doesn't sound bad on paper.
and if you're into relaxing 90s electronica, then café del mar is a must! these compilations are very big in my country. haven't listened to all but 11 is one of my faves! the first ones are a bit too psx ost sounding
