What's your word for the matrix?

| Where I'm from, we call it "the 'net". Hearing people call it something else took me quite a bit of getting used to when I first moved here.

| I call it the web, must be because I'm old though; not sure anyone calls it that anymore.

My mother calls it "the web" sometimes, though she says that was a term my grandparents favored more than she does.

| lolwat. i call it the interwebs.

| >>972594
I won't ask how old your mom is. I already feel old enough.

| I just call it "online" and I can't remember why or when I started doing it. I know it's stupid because everything is online nowadays; even my sapient coin-operated toaster is connected. Got more online friends than me too.

I wanna be friends with your toaster. They sound fun.

| >>972757
Coin-operated? Where do you get the coins to... operate it? Physical currency can be hard to come by, here.

Ah, it's another ancient slang I suppose. It's all wireless. It got that old timey-design too, you know like those sentient tobacco dispenser you find outside btc bars. Same manufacturer too.

I can't count the number of times I've been electroduced by one of those fuckers. I swear they're all telling eachother about me or something.

Maybe they're just trying to be friendly with you.

| The illusion or puppet show, Allegory maybe of Plato's Cave

| It feels like the name is always in flux. I use Matrix now but back home they called it Serverside, the Internet or The Network. In ten years maybe they'll call it the Digirealm or some shit, not that it matters.

The names all suck, or fail to accurately convey shit. What the hell is "The Matrix" even supposed to mean? Like a number Matrix or some shit?

Never heard Serverside, wonder if that's some european thing? Where you from anywho?

| >>973901
From a shithole, the kind where people call runners "Association Criminals" and other fancy terms so that people think they're some kind of politically organized mafia instead of a bunch of randos on BBSes.
